What’s really happening in the Gulf Oil Spill

I appreciate all of the concern with the disaster in the gulf, but there is an awful lot of ignorance concerning the mechanisms both on ATS as well as the myriad of so-called experts in the MSM. I am posting this thread, since I have been in the oil business for over 30 years working as a petroleum engineer and have actually designed drilled and operated oil & gas wells. This explanation may get too technical, but at least it will expose and dissipate myths concerning this disaster.

Any oil well is drilled starting with a large diameter that at certain points in the process the large diameter holes are cased off with pipe and cemented in place for various reasons and the drilling is continued with smaller diameters until it reaches its objective. I will not go into all of the reasons pipe is run and a smaller diameter is initiated, take my word for it happens & is necessary.

The Horizon Explorer had several strings of pipes until the final 7” pipe was run (probably the 7” was run in 9 5/8” OD casing). The well is blowing out of the annulus between the 7” casing & the 9 5/8” casing. There is no flow inside the 7”. This casing has tools & check valves that prevent anything from flowing into it. The 7” was supposed to be cemented in place, but the well was starting to blow out during this process. So the cement was being diluted with oil & gas where it could not solidify and shut off flow from the reservoir @ 18,000+/- feet below the seafloor.

I will not go into the failure of the blowout preventer. Let is suffice to say it didn’t work as designed and with the flow coming out, the oil & gas flowed up the riser (the pipe that connects the wellhead to the drilling rig) and it was game, set & match.

When the rig sank the riser was still attached to the wellhead and fell over & split in a reported 3 places. It w as reported that 16.5 #/gallon drilling mud was in the riser and the well blew out when it was replaced with seawater. To understand the physics I will try to explain hydrostatic head. The pressure created from a column of fluid in an oil well is identical to the reason you have water pressure out of the tap at the kitchen sink. Water which weighs 8.33 #/gallon is put into a water tower 100’ up in the air. Fresh water has a hydrostatic head equal to .433 psi per foot of height. Therefore you get 43.3 psi at your shower head. If water weighed 16 #/gallon then you would have 86.6 psi in the shower.
Similarly as an oil well is drilled there is a fluid known as “drilling mud” that is pumped into the drillpipe, through the drillbit & circulated back to the surface where it is screened to remove the soil dug out of the well. This “mud” is carefully monitored to make sure that if encounters oil or gas it is heavy enough to keep it from flowing into the wellbore. The well in question had to have 16.5 #/gallon mud weight to keep the oil & gas from flowing. The hydrostatic head of the mud of this weight as opposed to fresh water is .86 psi/ft. This means that the pressure in the oil reservoir encountered must be nearly 20,000 psi. ((18,000 + 5000) X .86). As the oil replaced the column of mud that would offset this bottomhole pressure it began flowing faster & faster into the annulus with more & more force as the weight of the 23,000 foot column of fluid became lighter & lighter. When the “company man” (the BP guy in charge) removed 16.5 #/gallon mud from the riser with 8.4 #.gallon sea water he immediately reduced the hydrostatic pressure 2000 psi & it was over.

Now BP is trying to recreate this heavy mud column to offset the bottomhole pressure to balance the well using the “top kill”. A “top kill” entails pumping weighted fluid into the top of the well and forcing the oil & gas back into the reservoir and filling the annular space with heavy mud creating a hydrostatic head equal to the reservoir pressure. The oil & gas are not flowing from a void in the earth it is flowing out of the tiny spaces between sand grains. There is a limit how fast the fluid will reverse & flow back into the formation sand. If the mud is pumped at a higher rate than the formation can absorb then the pressure increases and even the heavy mud may be inadequate to hold back the bottomhole pressure and when the pumps stop the mud starts flowing back. In addition, if the injection pressure gets too high it may exceed the burst strength of the casing in the well. If the casing splits & starts blowing out into the ocean bed the party is over, there is no way to control unless the flow in contained inside pipe. So the top kill is a precarious balancing act. To further complicate this situation it appears that 90% or more of the mud is not going down the hole, but is being spewed into the ocean. To get more down the hole one needs to pump at higher pressure which means increased rate which means more escapes instead of going down creating increased hydrostatic head to decrease the flow from the reservoir. The junk shot (rubber, golf balls, etc) is not to solve the whole problem; it is only to try to reduce the amount of mud that is escaping from the holes in the riser. They shut down periodically, to measure pressure to estimate how much is going down the hole & how much is being wasted. If the well initially flowed at 5000 psi & after a day of the “top kill” it’s flowing at 4000 psi then we have offset 1000 psi of the oil & gas with mud. If the mud weighs 16.5 #/gallon with a hydrostatic head of .86 psi/ft then we have successfully gotten 1200’ of mud column in the well if we assume only gas in the wellbore. It’s actually not this much. Having done “top kills” on land with varying degrees of success I can assure that its not easy under any circumstances much less those out here.

A “bottom kill” is vastly easier and is what the relief wells are about. Unfortunately for that to work the relief well must intersect an 8 ¾” diameter well bore 3 miles underground in the dark. It has been and can be done, but the deep intersection is necessary so that the enormous bottomhole reservoir pressure can be offset with heavy drilling fluid. The drilling mud will then displace the oil and gas from the bottom rather than try to force somewhere it doesn’t want to go. Once the heavy fluid balances the bottomhole pressure then cement can be put into place that once set up will end the need for the heavy fluid.

I apologize for the length of this post, but there is no shorter way to correct all of the misinformation.

Informal UFO/ET disclosure now happening in leaked UFO/ET reports via U.S. Capitol Police

An officer of the U.S. Capitol Police has leaked reports of UFO and hyperdimensional extraterrestrial spacecraft flyovers over the U.S. Capitol, using her active email account as a U.S. Capitol Police officer on the staff of the U.S. Senate Sergeant-at-Arms.  The U.S. Capitol Police officer, who has requested anonymity, made available the leaked reports, written by a former U.S. Capitol employee, in 2008 and 2009 to researcher and author Robert M. Stanley after Mr. Stanley made research inquiries of the U.S. Capitol Police regarding Wilbur “Will” Allen’s documentation of 2002 UFO/ET flyovers over the U.S. Capitol.

The leaked reports via the U.S. Capitol Police officer, which Mr. Stanley has examined and claims appear to be valid reports, confirm specific UFO/ET flyovers on April 22, 1999 and in spring 1995 in P-51 restricted airspace over the U.S. Capitol.

Mr. Stanley has made these leaked reports via the U.S. Capitol Police officer public in an exclusive Exopolitics Radio interview with reporter Alfred Lambremont Webre, and in the Examiner.com article below.

These leaked reports contain prime eyewitness witness evidence of UFO/ET over flights over the U.S. Capitol by the U.S. Capitol Police, trained officers in charge of the physical safety of the U.S. Capitol area.  The U.S. Capitol Police, according to Mr. Stanley, report to the National Security Agency (NSA) on matters relating to incursions into P-51 protected airspace by UFO/ET flyovers or landings on protected buildings, such as the U.S. Capitol, the White House, the reflecting pool, etc.

The leaked reports via the U.S. Capitol Police officer confirm the assertions of Wilbur “Will” Allen, a former White House employee and Air Force One engineer under U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. The first leaked UFO/ET disclosure via the U.S. Capitol Police

The following is a verbatim report as leaked to Robert M. Stanley in 2008 via a U.S. Capitol Police officer in the U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms office. In his ExopolticsRadio.org interview, Mr. Stanley speculates that mode of release of the UFO/ET reports in 2008 was designed to preserve anonymity and non-attribution, while preserving evidence of an official connection to the U.S. Capitol Police.

Robert M. Stanley notes that a video of the UFO/ET flyover of the U.S. Capitol was taken at the first event.  According to Mr. Stanley, “the video was never made public and was probably confiscated and classified.”

According to Mr. Stanley, this first report was written by the retired U.S. Capitol employee and is written in the first person “I,” referring to the employee himself.

DC UFO REPORT #411

Date – April 22, 1999:

“Around 11:00 a.m., myself, a group of tourists and a Capitol police officer

were standing on the west steps of the US Capitol when we noticed something

strange flying at about 15,000 feet. It was moving gradually from

north to south over the US Capitol Dome.

“The object was a bright, silver, disc shaped UFO. It was moving

relatively slow and would stop on occasion. I recall there was a

bright white flash emitting from it about every minute or so, we

couldn’t tell if it was from the object or a reflection from the sun

coming off of it.

“The object was flying in a rather odd pattern. It would stop for

many seconds, then make a sharp left or right movement, then start

moving straight again. At times it looked like it was moving in a

zig zag pattern, then it would make right-angle turns. It’s hard to

explain. We couldn’t figure out what this was because the area it

was flying in was prohibited/restricted air space.

“The Capitol police officer with me notified his superior about the

object, but I don’t know what they did about it. The object was

literally straight up above the Capitol dome and was also seen by

the tourists.

“We watched the object for about 20 minutes until it moved out of

site, toward Virginia.

“I have continued to wonder about it and have tried to find anyone

else that saw the UFO when I did.

“Have you ever heard of a bright flash coming from any of the

sightings you have researched in D.C.? The flash was not like a

beacon light from an airplane, I can only describe it as a huge

camera flash that would flash roughly every 20-30 seconds.

“We were looking directly at the bottom of this thing since it was

right over head. The objects top was a shiny silver sphere with a

shiny silver square style bottom. It was something that I can’t

explain and haven’t seen before.

“I know my time line is vague but it was around spring time, in

April I think around 11:00 a.m. in the morning. I wish I would have

written down the information when we had the sighting. I saw the

police officer the other day that was with me that morning and he

still remembers it like I do.

“I wish I could find an explanation. I don’t work on Capitol Hill

anymore. I am using my wife’s (Capitol Police) e-mail account. I

used to work there, but left in 2000. I still have many friends on

the police that I might be able to get information from.”

“I recall that one of the tourists visiting the Capitol that day had

a video camera and captured the entire event. However, that footage

has not yet been made available to the public. Or, *_perhaps it was

_**_ confiscated_*?

“The Capitol Police officer who experienced the sighting with me is

now a lieutenant. When the sighting occurred he did report it to his

superior because the craft was in prohibited/restricted air space,

but I don’t know what happened with that report or any follow up

investigation.

“I said then when we were watching the UFO that I think its taking

photographs. I’m sure there are a lot more incidents that occur, but

we will never hear about any of them.”

Date: Spring 1995

“In 1995, when this sighting occurred, ‘X’ had only been a Capitol Police officer for a couple of  years.

As  of 2009, ‘X’ has been on the police force for many years

and is a well-respected, ranking officer on the Capitol Police force

“Although ‘X’ had never given UFOs a second thought, that all

changed one morning at the Law Library Door. For those who aren’t

familiar, the Law Library Door is located just left of the main

center steps on the East side of the US Capitol.

“The day started as most do with tourist and other people standing

in line to visit the most powerful building in the world. The Law

Library Door is traditionally used as a staff entrance an

occasionally for the visitor unable to conquer the 220 steps leading

into the Rotunda.

“As the morning rush ended and things finally started to slow down

‘X’ walked out of the Law Library Door to get a little fresh air at

the bottom of the main Capitol steps.

“As he gazed across the plaza toward Upper Senate Park, he was

startled by an amazing sight. At that time, he saw 3 glowing

spherical UFOs that were each about 3 feet in diameter. At first,

they hovered about 100 feet above the ground, but then they began

flying silently in and out of the trees in the upper portion of

Senate Park. Baffled, ‘X’ yelled out to the other officer who

accompanied him that morning. He said, ‘Hurry – you have to get a

see this!’

“As the other officer arrived, the UFOs were just exiting the park

and starting to move up Constitution Ave. As they watched the UFOs,

the Capitol Police officers noticed these strange spheres were

flying at about the same height as the Russell, Dirksen and Hart

Senate office buildings.

“The UFOs were soon following each other in unison until they

abruptly made a sharp right turn on First Street NE and continued

south in the direction of the U.S. Supreme Court.

“As the UFOs approached the Supreme Court they made very erratic

left to right movements and would change position in what seemed to

be a game of intergalactic follow-the-leader.

“The UFOs were soon in front of the Library of Congress. That’s when

they made an arching loop north and headed back up First Street

towards their original location. For some reason, the UFOs started

bobbing up and down in the air as they flew back in the direction of

the Hart, Senate office building.

“While quickly approaching the building, they suddenly lifted up and

passed over top and continued north until they were no longer in

sight. ‘X’ has absolutely no explanation for what he saw that

amazing spring morning. However, those 15 minutes forever changed

his outlook on UFOs and life as he knows it.”

During my investigation, I learned from another ranking officer on

the Capitol Police force that many police officers serving at the

Capitol have encountered UFOs and then have had to write a report of

the event.

However, when I requested sanitized versions of these reports, my

request was denied. Apparently, although the Capitol Police would

like to tell their side of this strange story, other government

agencies with higher control over the security of the Capitol and

the Washington, D.C., area are simply not ready willing or able to

disclose this sensitive data to the public at this time.

Millennium celebration 2000 Washington, DC UFO/ET flyover

In his ExopoliticsRadio.org interview, Mr. Stanley notes that there was a UFO/ET flyover of P-51 restricted airspace during the Millennial Celebration of December 31, 1999 – January 1, 2000, which was attended by approximately 1,000,000 persons.

According to the National UFO Reporting Center, “the [UFO/ET incident took place at 1A.M. on January 1, 2000. After the witness attended America’s Millennium celebration, the person with a friend walked to the Metro station. He heard the firework explosions from a barge on the Potomac River behind the Lincoln Monument.  He noticed near the monument what appeared to be shooting stars. He looked again and ‘saw a pair of dark but lit cylindrical objects ‘flying’ in formation from NW to SE passing directly over (him).’ In the next minute he saw three other cylindrical objects.  His friend did not notice the objects. This witness outside the Metro station observed 5 cylindrical objects moving at a high speed over the sky.”

In his ExopoliticsRadio.org interview, Mr. Stanley indicates that UFO/ET encounters over the Washington, DC started in 1850 and have continued to the present.  Mr. Stanley states, “Statistically, it is significant that the current decade 2000 – 2010 has had the most UFO/ET reports (200+).  A close second is the decade 1950 – 1960 (190+).  Therefore, the majority of the UFO/ET sightings over Washington, DC have taken place in these 2 decades, namely 2000 – 2010, and 1950 – 1960.”

In a statement about the U.S. Capitol Police and UFO/ET disclosure, Mr. Stanley says, “You should know the UFO/ET reports from the US Capitol Police were unsolicited by me.  It was done in a manner that would maintain plausible deniability and still disclose data to the public.  Clearly, there are some people in the U.S. government that want to gradually inform the public about exopolitical activities.”

How to evaluate the UFO/ET reports leaked via a U.S. Capitol Police apparatus

1.  Informal UFO/ET disclosure – As noted, these reports via the U.S. Capitol Police are not a formal announcement or official “disclosure” by the U.S. Capitol Police of a frequent UFO/ET presence in the U.S. Capitol area.  The reports do constitute a significant unofficial UFO/ET disclosure by a former U.S. Capitol employee through the active email account of a current U.S. Capitol Police officer at the U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms of the UFO and hyperdimensional presence in the protected airspace of the U.S. Capitol and the White House.  These informal disclosures are not comparable to official disclosures of formerly secret UFO/ET files, such as is occurring in the U.K., France, and other nations.  Nor do the informal disclosures rise to the level of formality of disclosures specific nations like Brazil, where secret UFO/ET files have been made available by military-intelligence agencies to specific researchers.

Nevertheless, the informal disclosures of UFO/ET flyovers over the U.S. Capitol via a retired U.S. Capitol employee through the active email account of a current U.S. Capitol Police officer in the U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms office can be classified as a significant informal – if not official – disclosure by an agency of the U.S. government of active UFO/ET over flights over highly protected P-51 airspace in the U.S. national capital.

2.  Wilbur “Will” Allen and Robert M. Stanley – The courage and creativity of Wilbur “Will” Allen and Robert M. Stanley, whose work resulted in this informal UFO/ET disclosure should be acknowledged and publicly supported.  As Examiner.com reported, “Mr. Allen, who grew up on U.S. military bases and now resides in Washington, DC, reveals that at age five he was visited by a group of ‘four to five grey extraterrestrials in silver spacesuits’ who implanted him with a device.

“That implant device went undetected during all the years of his military and White House service, and now signals him to go to specific locations in Washington, DC where he is instructed to photograph extraterrestrial craft and personnel that enter P-51 restricted Capitol Hill airpace through hyperdimensional Star gates at extremely high speeds.  Mr. Allen, who has reported some of these UFO/ET landings to the U.S. Capitol Police, states that the police have told him his photographs confirm ET/UFO landings their officers are also encountering.”

3.  U.S. Capitol Police UFO/ET disclosure and the Obama White House – The informal release of these UFO/ET reports via a U.S. Capitol Police apparatus itself raises the issue of the role the Obama administration itself is playing in UFO/ET disclosure.

As Examiner.com has reported, the any mention of the UFO/ET issue has been taken off of the Obama White House website, and any press questions regarding UFO/ET issues are forbidden by the office of U.S. White House press secretary Robert Gibbs.

Thus, an informal UFO/ET disclosure via the U.S. Capitol Police apparatus may be a way of signaling to the public that members of a national security uniformed police force in charge of the U.S. Capitol is having to police real UFO/ET phenomena that the White House administration has failed to provide an adequate policy response for.

Some force within the U.S. Capitol Police apparatus may be seeking to force the hand of the Obama administration and the U.S. Congress on formal or informal UFO/ET disclosure.

4.  Ongoing UFO/ET Washington, DC disclosures – Robert M. Stanley and Wilbur “Will” Allen have made available to this Examiner.com reporter Alfred Lambremont Webre other informal UFO/ET disclosures via the U.S. Capitol Police apparatus and avenues regarding UFO/ET flyovers over Washington, DC P-51 restricted airspace, and reported interactions by sitting U.S. Presidents with representatives of extraterrestrial civilizations, and these will be reported by Examiner.com in future articles.

Twelve New England towns demand 9/11 reinvestigation

Russia Today reports that a new movement to reinvestigate the 9/11 attacks is gaining pace in the US. With major public support, 12 towns are set to decide whether to ask the federal government for a new independent probe.Twelve towns are making a new 9/11 inquiry a ballot box issue this spring. Voters heading to the polls will vote on a non-binding resolution that supporters hope eventually sparks momentum and legislative power nationwide.

Hundreds of citizens are expressing a desire to find out the real truth and are attending meetings where local experts, such as physicist John Wyndam, present alternative 9/11 theories, specifically surrounding the collapse of World Trade Center Seven and the Twin Towers.

Basically it is impossible for the top 12 stories to have crushed the lower structure without acceleration. Physically impossible and yet that is what you observe, claimed Wyndam.

While most elected officials have ignored cries for a 9/11 probe, former Keene mayor Mike Blastos is an exception.

The two biggest tragedies I can recall other than world wars concerning America was Kennedys assassination and the attack on 9/11. And they both remain completely unanswered, Blastos said.

The 9/11 commission, like the Warren Commission, left millions of Americans doubtful over the official governments version. Bedding withholds accusations, but demands answers.

I do not like to speculate who did what, or who let something happening. That should be found out. Building 7 was not even mentioned in the original report. But I do know that a building that has not been hit by an airplane, such as Building 7, does not come down like perfectly controlled demolition.

11-year-old medium shocks Unitarian minister

As a very liberal Unitarian minister, Dr. Horace Westwood (pictured below) did not believe in any kind of afterlife. He was a humanist who believed that the objective of life was to make the world a better place for future generations. He did not stop to ask what future generations might strive for beyond comforts and pleasures once Utopia was attained. ‘The only immortality of which I was sure was the immortality of influence,’ he offered. ‘Beyond that, I had nothing to offer.’

Born in Yorkshire, England in 1884, Westwood emigrated to Canada in 1904, ministering in both the western and eastern parts of the country. As he explained in his 1949 book, There is a Psychic World, his philosophy relative to survival and the meaning of life began to slowly change in 1918 when he observed messages coming over a Ouija board at a friend’s house. Curious, he purchased a Ouija board and began experimenting in his own house with his wife and her cousin, who lived with them.

Their initial efforts were a failure. When Westwood’s four children and ‘Anna,’ the cousin’s 11-year-old daughter, asked what was going on, Westwood explained that it was kind of a toy. They asked to try it and he consented. Nothing happened with Westwood’s children, but when Anna tried it things did happen.

‘She had hardly touched it, when the indicator began to move with startling rapidity and with equally startling accuracy, spelling out words and sentences in complete and intelligent sequence,’ Westwood wrote. ‘But the subject matter of the sentence was extraordinary to say the least. Things were revealed which the child could not possibly have known. Circumstances and events were told concerning each adult that were not known to the other two. At times it was embarrassing, at least, to me.’

Westwood turned the board around and blindfolded Anna, but it made no difference. The indicator continued to deliver a wealth of information with swiftness and accuracy.

‘My immediate reaction was that the natural sensitivity of the child enabled her, by some process beyond my ken, to explore the subconscious levels of the minds of the adults and to bring forgotten and buried memories to light,’ Westwood explained.

The following day, Westwood made his own Ouija board with the letters in different places. He brought Anna to the board in his den while blindfolded and placed her hand on the tumbler over the board. ‘It was literally amazing,’ he recorded. ‘Her hand was not confused in the least. The tumbler found the letters with the same swiftness and accuracy as the day before. And to my great surprise the first message that came through was to the effect that I was a fool for my pains, the arrangements of the letters made not the slightest difference and that ‘they’ would prove that they were invisible entities seeking to communicate on the physical plane.’

Among the messages was one purporting to come from Fred, an old college friend who had died several years earlier. Still, Westwood refused to believe in spirits. ‘I positively refused to grant them any real existence,’ he continued, adding that he was certain it had to be some aspect of the subconscious mind that he did not understand.

Concerned about the effect of all this on Anna, Westwood discussed it with her, her mother, and his wife. As Anna seemed not to be affected in a negative way, he decided to continue with more experiments. Within a week, Anna developed the power of automatic writing. ‘It made no difference whether we blindfolded her or not, she wrote with the same perfect ease and accuracy. Her pencil never faltered and never was there the slightest hesitation in recording answers to questions that were asked.’

One message came from a child whose parents Westwood knew. For privacy concerns, he referred to her under the pseudonym ‘Charlotte Summers.’ She had been in the adjoining ward of the hospital Dr Westwood was in for surgery during 1913. She ‘passed over,’ at the age of six, before he left the hospital.

Charlotte began by giving her name and their mutual hospital experiences, as well as the circumstances of her death. ‘As the message continued, she revealed an intimate knowledge of her parents’ family life both during her earthly sojourn and since,’ Westwood documented. ‘She then made clear the purpose of her communication.’ She wanted Westwood to contact her mother, who had ceased to grieve, and let her know that she was still alive. ‘Give her to understand that I’m always near and that I am so happy over baby brother.’ Charlotte communicated in Anna’s hand.

Westwood was reluctant to contact the Summers and tell them of the communication, especially since he was still not sure that it was not all some kind of trick of the subconscious combined with mental telepathy. However, he proceeded to call them and received the reaction he had feared. Mr. Summers was shocked that Westwood would believe in such ‘nonsense’ and wanted nothing to do with it. However, about a month later, Mr Summers, apparently at the urging of Mrs. Summers, called Westwood and requested that Anna be brought to their home.

‘In response to the many questions asked through Anna of the alleged Charlotte [by the Summers], the replies indicated a wealth of detailed information entirely beyond any possible knowledge [Anna] might have possessed,’ Westwood wrote. ‘The parents were convinced that the communication were evidential and that through Anna they had come into touch with the daughter who had ‘passed over’ some five years before.’

Not long after the automatic writing began, Anna wrote messages from two apparently different sources. One signed her name ‘Ruth’ and the other ‘Ralph.’ They claimed to have been stenographers in Washington, D.C. in the employment of the U.S. Government and said they died together about two years earlier while in their late twenties. They provided some data about their life, but Westwood, still resisting the survival hypothesis, made no attempt to follow up and verify the information. ‘I was not interested in communing with the departed, and the problem of proving or disproving survival was not in my mind,’ Westwood explained as he wrote the book some three decades later.

While messages had come from other ‘entities’ earlier, they now came only from Ruth and Ralph. Anna suddenly became an expert typist while receiving messages from Ruth and Ralph. ‘Anna had never played with a typewriter,’ Westwood wrote. ‘But under control and blindfolded, she would operate the machine with perfect ease as though she possessed experienced hands. Yet, without control and without the blindfold, she had to pick out the letters, painfully, one by one.’

Westwood would place typed questions in the typewriter, blindfold Anna, who had no prior knowledge of the questions, and then receive swift replies from Ruth and Ralph. He even spoke with Anna about other matters as her fingers typed replies.

At one sitting, Ralph suggested a game. He instructed Westwood to take a ‘rook’ from his chess set and place a ping-pong ball on it, then to use his long briar tobacco pipe as a golf club and to hit the ball toward a certain object without knocking down the rook. ‘It was a task requiring the greatest delicacy in coordination and skill,’ Westwood related, mentioning that his four children and Anna all gave it a try. ‘Not once did any of us succeed. Usually, we knocked down the rook with ball. When we succeeded in hitting the ball without knocking down the rook, it went wild and we missed our object.’

Ralph then communicated that Westwood should blindfold Anna and place her in position. ‘Through Anna, Ralph assumed a stance, then swinging the pipe as a club, he struck,’ Westwood continued the story. ‘He did not miss, the rook did not fall, and the ball flew with precise aim and hit the object. We set ourselves up as targets around the room, and one by one, he caused the ball to hit us all.’ Anna remained blindfolded through it all.

Westwood then challenged Ralph to a game of chess. Westwood had previously taught Anna the game, although her skills were elementary. Nevertheless, as a precaution he again blindfolded her. ‘It was an extraordinary sight to watch her fingers move the pieces on the board,’ Westwood wrote. ‘But it was more marvelous still to realize that a genuine game was in process.’ Later, after Ralph had departed, Westwood tried to get Anna to play the game, but she could not see the pieces and therefore was unable to play.

There were times when Ruth and Ralph were absent. Westwood asked them what they were doing when they were not communicating with him. They informed him that they had duties and tasks, primarily that of welcoming to their side those who had just passed over. Ruth and Ralph explained that their time at the Westwood home was their recreation period. They further explained that their job of greeting new souls was very stressful, especially since many of them failed to realize that they were ‘dead.’ Some of those who had passed over from the battlefield continued to want to fight. It was as if they were men struggling in a nightmare.

Westwood pointed out that Anna never went into a trance. ‘Never, for one moment, was there even the suggestion of a lapse of consciousness,’ he explained. ‘While the alleged controls never ‘broke through’ or manifested in my absence, or without my expressed wish, when they did come through, Anna was always master of the situation. In almost every experiment, for example, she would at times throw off the control in order to make some personal comment or observation, thus showing that her own mind was watchful and fully alert.’

One evening, Westwood asked Ruth if she would play on the piano through Anna, who had taken a few lessons but was by no means an accomplished pianist. Ruth informed him that she was not musical, but that the following evening she would bring a friend named Kate, so gifted. The following evening, Westwood blindfolded Anna and sat her at the piano. ‘As long as I shall live, I shall never forget that night,’ Westwood reported. ‘She began with a slow melody, the like of which I had never heard before, for it was solemn in its majesty and almost unearthly in its beauty. As I watched the child play, the bodily action and the finger technique were entirely different from Anna’s own.’

Later, the alleged Kate (through Anna) took pencil and paper and began to write rapidly. She told Westwood that the scale structure on her side was different and thus it was difficult to express herself as she would have liked to. ‘Yet the whole performance was on an elevated plane, indicating a mental range and musical understanding far beyond the child’s normal power,’ Westwood wrote.

At another sitting, during which a number of family friends gathered, Ruth took charge and asked each person to write a question on a piece of paper, leave it unsigned, then fold the paper and put it into a container. Westwood then shook the container and gave it to Anna, who took out the pieces of paper one by one. In each case, Ruth identified the writer and answered the questions. In two or three cases, the answer was ‘I don’t know.’ One of the guests asked what the price of a certain stock would be on the stock exchange the following day. ‘Have you been imbibing too freely from the contents of your well-stocked cellar?’ Ruth responded to that question. This was during prohibition and the response was very embarrassing to the guest. Westwood pointed out that Anna, herself, could not possibly have known of the guest’s ‘well-stocked cellar.’

Still, Westwood remained a ‘doubting Thomas,’ not wanting to believe in the spirit hypothesis and thinking that Anna’s subconscious was somehow producing the phenomena. One night, Ruth and Ralph left and a nameless spirit who would only designate himself as ‘X’ began communicating. ‘I realized that we were in the presence of a decidedly superior intelligence, as far above Ruth or Ralph in intellectual grasp as a Ph.D. would be above a college freshman,’ Westwood documented. ‘X’ began discussing philosophical matters, some of which were beyond Westwood’s grasp. ‘The general point of view was that the underlying, in fact the all-permeating reality was consciousness, and that the universe by and large was designed for ‘being’ and ‘beings’ in an infinite series of gradations,’ Westwood further reported, admitting that his intelligence was no match for ‘X’.

Westwood then proposed an experiment. He would blindfold Anna and he would then walk backward into another room, the library. With his back to the bookcase, he would select a book at random. Without looking at the book, he would open it and place it on a buffet in the dining room with the open pages down. He would then return to Anna and ask ‘X’ to indicate the number of the right-hand page at which the book was opened and write the first 10-12 words. ‘X’ agreed to the experiment, which was carried out as Westwood requested, several other adults in attendance.

‘I do not hesitate in making the confession that I walked to the buffet with some trepidation,’ Westwood continued. ‘I did not believe that what I had proposed was within the realm of possibility. However, when I reached the buffet and compared the script (from ‘X’ through Anna), they corresponded. The script gave the correct number of the page. However, as to the writing, there was one slight variation. Instead of the words from the top of the page, they were the opening words of the first paragraph. Also, there was one slight discrepancy, the first word ‘Remember’ was spelled ‘Rember.’ Otherwise, the text was perfect.’

On Christmas Day, 1918, a young girl named Virginia, the niece of a member of Westwood’s congregation was killed in a tobogganing accident. Two days later, Ruth communicated that Virginia was there and she would allow her to communicate through Anna, even though Virginia was still dazed.

‘The first symptom was that of bewilderment bordering on fear,’ Westwood wrote. ‘In fact, the first words that came through were, ‘Where am I? I want my mother.’ This was repeated several times as she (Virginia through Anna) gazed around the room.’ Westwood told her that there was no need to be afraid, that she was in the study of the church. Virginia then settled down and asked how her mother and baby brother were. Westwood noted that neither he nor Anna knew that she had a baby brother. He asked other questions of Virginia and later confirmed the responses as fact with Virginia’s aunt.

While Westwood claimed to have no interest in survival, he wrote that he was forced to believe in it after his experiences with Anna, who lost her powers after about three years, upon the departure of Ruth and Ralph.

Paper reveals EU plan to boost GM crop cultivation

(Reuters) – Europe faces a major overhaul in the way it deals with genetically modified (GM) crops, after the European Commission sparked controversy with new plans to circumvent its cumbersome legislative review process.

The EU executive wants to let national governments decide whether or not to grow genetically modified crops without a long drawn-out review of the bloc’s current GM legislation, an initial impact assessment seen by Reuters showed.

Details of the plan, which would open the door to widespread GM cultivation in Europe, provoked a furious reaction from environmentalists already angry at the EU executive’s decision to approve the commercial growing of a GM potato in March.

But the plan will be a boost to biotech companies in the EU, where blockages in the current approval system have confined commercial growing to less than 100,000 hectares across the 27-nation bloc.

It could also ease trade tensions between the EU and the United States, which launched a World Trade Organization dispute against the EU in 2003 after countries including Austria and Germany banned the cultivation of an approved GM maize.

The EU executive is hoping to unblock the paralysis in GM crop approvals by giving those countries that want to grow them the freedom to do so, while also sanctioning the current “GM-free” stance of several member states.

Rather than revise the legislation, which would require the agreement of the European Parliament, the Commission will try to make the change “within the existing legislative framework, if possible,” the paper said.

“The Commission appears intent on avoiding any democratic debate with the parliament in order to please the biotech industry and get GM crops into Europe,” said Friends of the Earth campaigner Adrian Bebb.

The proposals — due to be tabled in June — will likely have “a positive impact on biotechnology and seed companies compared to the status quo,” the assessment said.

“There may be a negative impact for non-GM farmers,” it added, referring to the risk of unintentional contamination of conventional farm produce by GM-crops.

POLICY OPTIONS

The paper outlines several options for implementing the proposal within the existing legislative framework, and makes it clear that a key consideration will be the likely reaction of WTO countries, particularly the U.S.

“Biotechnology is an important topic of transatlantic dialogue and therefore relations with the U.S. … need to be taken into consideration when developing this initiative, irrespective of the options,” the assessment said.

The first and most likely option set out in the paper is that approval for GM cultivation requests would continue to be granted at EU level following a safety assessment, but countries would then decide individually whether to grow them or not.

When it comes to how member states will justify their decision whether or not to cultivate, one option is to revise non-legislative EU guidelines on the “co-existence” of GM and non-GM crops, according to the paper.

This would allow countries to specify a 5 or 10 kilometer “buffer zone” between GM and non-GM fields, which would effectively make cultivation of GM crops impossible in practice.

Another option in the paper is to allow countries to cite “socio-economic” factors as the basis for their decisions, such as protecting organic production, increasing farmers’ yields, or reducing the use of herbicides and pesticides.

What did Gary McKinnon really find?

In what US prosecutors have called the biggest military hack of all time, Scottish hacker, Gary McKinnon says it was all done in an effort to end secrecy regarding UFOs and Free Energy technology. McKinnon has been accused of hacking into computer systems belonging to NASA, the US Army, US Navy, Department of Defense, and the US Air Force. He is fighting extradition to the United States to be held on trial, and if extradited faces spending the rest of his life in prison, but were his efforts in vain, or did he really find something.

In all of his interviews, McKinnon talks about two UFO related finds. He told the Guardian newspaper that he thought what he found was so important that he tried to barter with the government. When first caught he was offered the chance to take a plea bargain and get a three to four year sentence. He turned the offer down to get a lesser sentence, threatening to release everything he found if they didn’t give him a better deal. Unfortunately for Gary, the US government wasn’t too worried about his revelations. Now he faces spending a 70 year sentence in a US prison, where they don’t serve tea and crumpets.

McKinnon was inspired by physician Dr. Steven Greer’s Disclosure project. Greer had brought together a number of very credible witnesses to testify in front of the Washington National Press Club that they had knowledge of the existence of Extraterrestrial visitation and that it was being hidden from the public. One of the witnesses said they knew that pictures from space were being altered at NASA’s Johnson’s space center; UFOs were allegedly being taken out of pictures.

McKinnon hacked into Johnson’s systems and said he found a high definition picture of a large cigar shaped object over the northern hemisphere. He said that he was so shocked by the picture that he didn’t think to immediately save it. He also said that the file size was so large that is was difficult to view it on his computer. Eventually his connection was lost, and so was the picture.

The most shocking find to McKinnon, the one he thought would be his ace in the hole negotiating with the US government, was what he found hacking into the systems of US Space Command. McKinnon says he found a log that listed non-terrestrial officers. He doesn’t believe that these were aliens, but he believes this to be evidence that the US military has a secret battalion in space. Some of these logs were ship to ship transfers, but he says he was usually smoking pot when he hacked, so that prevented him from remembering the names of the ships. McKinnon told the Guardian: “I was smoking a lot of dope at the time. Not good for the intellect.”

There are rumors that he has talked about the names of two of the ships he saw on the transfer logs, the names of the ships being the USSS LeMay and the USSS Hillenkoetter. Typically Navy ship names just have two S’, an acronym for United States Ship, however there are three S’ here, presumably standing for United States Space Ship. The names of the ships are also significant.

General Curtis LeMay was friends with retired Air Force Reserve Major General and former U.S. Senator from Arizona, Barry Goldwater. Goldwater believed there was a UFO cover-up deep within the government, and suspected that his friend LeMay knew about it. There were rumors that there was UFO evidence being held in a secret room at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base called the blue room. Goldwater told the media several times that when he asked LeMay about this room, LeMay got upset and told him, “Not only can’t you get into it but don’t you ever mention it to me again.” Open Minds magazine will have an article going more into depth on Goldwater in the second issue.

The second ship’s namesake, Admiral Roscoe Hillenkoetter, was the first director of the CIA, and was also a member of a UFO research organization, the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena (NICAP). In 1960 the New York Times reported that Hillenkoetter had sent a letter to Congress that included this statement: “Behind the scenes, high-ranking Air Force officers are soberly concerned about UFOs. But through official secrecy and ridicule, many citizens are led to believe the unknown flying objects are nonsense.”

Although Hillenkoetter fought for the end of UFO secrecy, he eventually stopped commenting on the matter. Alleged secret documents that were leaked to UFO researchers, list Hillenkoetter as a member of the infamous Majestic 12 group, an organization rumored to have been made up of high ranking military officers and civilians that was supposedly created by President Truman to initially manage the UFO issue.

However, the fact that McKinnon really released the names of these ships is also alleged, thus far there are no source for these rumors.

So that is it, the UFO picture that McKinnon saw and the ship rosters were all he had, and unfortunately for him, they were not enough to scare the government into going easy on him. Instead he has been fighting a long multi-year battle to keep from being extradited to the US, a fight that he is losing. So far every British court he has appealed to has denied his stay.

The US government is really throwing the book at him, alleging that he took down military computers making the US vulnerable soon after 911. McKinnon denies those claims, and says that he was able to observe many hackers from around the world accessing the networks he was on at the same time he was on them. Many believe that McKinnon may just be a scapegoat.

The search for truth on the UFO matter is a difficult one, and some may argue that the secrets being kept are illegal. However, taking illegal steps to get to the truth is ill-advised, and unfortunately McKinnon is learning this the hard way.

Cannabinoids Kill Cancer and Our Government Has Known for 36 Years

Below is a repost of an article published on Americans for Safe Access website: www.safeaccessnow.org in November of 2003. The article describes how cannabinoids, the active components of marijuana, inhibit tumor growth in laboratory animals and also kill cancer cells. Then it finishes off by saying that the US government has known for more than 35 years and that the media which would normally go crazy about a cancer cure story like this, doesn’t at all and in fact seem to be burying the story rather than promote it in any way. I for one am amazed at the government’s stance on marijuana and their failed war on drugs, which is more like a war on it’s own country. I guess too many people get rich off of the war on drugs.

A new study published in Nature Reviews-Cancer provides an historic and detailed explanation about how THC and natural cannabinoids counteract cancer, but preserve normal cells.

The study by Manuel Guzmán of Madrid Spain found that cannabinoids, the active components of marijuana, inhibit tumor growth in laboratory animals. They do so by modulating key cell-signalling pathways, thereby inducing direct growth arrest and death of tumor cells, as well as by inhibiting the growth of blood vessels that supply the tumor.

The Guzman study is very important according to Dr. Ethan Russo , a neurologist and world authority on medical cannabis: “Cancer occurs because cells become immortalized; they fail to heed normal signals to turn off growth. A normal function of remodelling in the body requires that cells die on cue. This is called apoptosis, or programmed cell death. That process fails to work in tumors. THC promotes its reappearance so that gliomas, leukemias, melanomas and other cell types will in fact heed the signals, stop dividing, and die.”

“But, that is not all,” explains Dr. Russo: “The other way that tumors grow is by ensuring that they are nourished: they send out signals to promote angiogenesis, the growth of new blood vessels. Cannabinoids turn off these signals as well. It is truly incredible, and elegant.”

In other words, this article explains several ways in which cannabinoids might be used to fight cancer, and, as the article says, “Cannabinoids are usually well tolerated, and do not produce the generalized toxic effects of conventional chemotherapies.

Usually, any story that even suggests the possibility of a new treatment for cancer is greeted with headlines about a “cancer cure” – however remote in the future and improbable in fact it might be. But if marijuana is involved, don’t expect any coverage from mainstream media, especially since mainstream editors have been quietly killing this story for the past thirty years…

That’s right, news about the abilility of pot to shrink tumors first surfaced, way back in 1974. Researchers at the Medical College of Virginia, who had been funded by the National Institutes of Health to find evidence that marijuana damages the immune system, found instead that THC slowed the growth of three kinds of cancer in mice — lung and breast cancer, and a virus-induced leukemia.

The Washington Post reported on the 1974 study — in the “Local” section — on Aug. 18, 1974. Under the headline, “Cancer Curb Is Studied,” it read in part: “The active chemical agent in marijuana curbs the growth of three kinds of cancer in mice and may also suppress the immunity reaction that causes rejection of organ transplants, a Medical College of Virginia team has discovered.” The researchers “found that THC slowed the growth of lung cancers, breast cancers, and a virus-induced leukemia in laboratory mice, and prolonged their lives by as much as 36 percent.”

“News coverage of the Madrid discovery has been virtually nonexistent in this country. The news broke quietly on Feb. 29, 2000 with a story that ran once on the UPI wire about the Nature Medicine article,” complained MarijuanaNews.com editor Richard Cowan , who said he was only able to find the article through a link that appeared briefly on the Drudge Report Web page. “The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times all ignored the story, even though its newsworthiness is indisputable: a benign substance occurring in nature destroys deadly brain tumors,” added Cowan.

On March 29, 2001, the San Antonio Current printed a carefully researched, bombshell of a story by Raymond Cushing titled, “POT SHRINKS TUMORS; GOVERNMENT KNEW IN ‘74.” Media coverage since then has been nonexistant, except for a copy of the story on Alternet.

It is hard to believe that the knowledge that cannabis can be used to fight cancer has been suppressed for almost thirty years , yet it seems likely that it will continue to be suppressed. Why?

According to Cowan, the answer is because it is a threat to cannabis prohibition . “If this article and its predecessors from 2000 and 1974 were the only evidence of the suppression of medical cannabis, then one might perhaps be able to rationalize it in some herniated way. However, there really is massive proof that the suppression of medical cannabis represents the greatest failure of the institutions of a free society, medicine, journalism, science, and our fundamental values,” Cowan notes.

Millions of people have died horrible deaths and in many cases, familes exhausted their savings on dangerous, toxic and expensive drugs. Now we are just beginning to realize that while marijuana has never killed anyone, marijuana prohibition has killed millions.
